The auto went pass a stop that caused the fire truck to crash into it. The stop sign was obstructed due to blooming trees and it was also on a utility pole. The poor visibility of the sign was noted in the police report therefore no sitations were issued. Let me add that the fire truck was not on call.

How does auto insurance work when you “loan” your car to another?

Tanika asked:

I have been thinking of “loaning” my car (which I own) to my 87 year old father. I would then lease a vehicle for myself. Then at the end of the lease period (let’s say 3 years) if he is no longer driving, the car returns to me. Can he purchase auto insurance on himself and the car or does it fall upon me and my policy? My father has an excellent driving record and so do I.

Are those in the Auto industry who receive government subsidies better than me?

When Buzz Hardgrove or others say the auto industry should receive subsidies so that auto workers can maintain a job at a high wage does that mean everyone else who earns less than an autoworker should receive money as well? Or are auto workers better than the average person and more deserving of high wages even when the market dictates differently?

Diandra asked:

I had just recently taken my car to a “mom and pop” auto body shop two weeks ago. From the time I got the estimate, until the time I actually put it in the shop I have been having difficulty. I owe more than he quoted me by $400. I am a very resourceful person. Is it illegal for me to drive my car off the lot without them knowing, and then pay the total later?

stephen d asked:

6 months ago I was in fault for an auto accident. I am now being sued for $200,000 basically for pain and suffering, which is crazy to that extent because the injuries were not that severe. Both of us walked away from the accident. My insurance covers up to $100,000 so the leaves the rest to me. What typical happens in cases like this?

Brian Deese is 31 years old, has no business experience, no business education and has yet to graduate from law school. Does this qualify him to run the auto industry? He is Obama’s latest choice to aid in the destruction of capitalism.

How do you feel about the 25 billion bailout to the US auto manufacturers?

Jerry H asked:

Well this move by congress obviously keeps me interested in Japanese auto products.

The US automakers are doing a PR stunt claiming it’s not a bailout. How can they claim that when its the taxpayers taking the risk of a 25 bn loan? In other words the General Public Fund absorbs the losses of Ford/GM/Chrysler’s mistakes.

I believe Ford and GM and Chrysler are performing this PR stunt to save their future sales from angry taxpayers.

Wes asked:

We live next door to an auto body shop in an apartment. Lately they have been spraying paint and primer on cars under our apartment and the smell is overwhelming. My daughter has developed an allergy and breathing problem and I am wondering if this has something to do with it. We don’t have much money and don’t have family or friends to go stay with. Just wondering if there is an agency I can call to get this problem looked into.
Forgot to mention i live in Western NY, South of Rochester Area.
