The person that hit me is ticketed and at fault. I have auto insurance that doesn’t cover PIP. And I don’t have personal insurance.

You will have to see a solicitor who will send you to the necessary doctors both for your treatment and a court case against the offender the bills will be paid out of your court judgment. try to find a solicitor who works on the basis of no win no pay ~~ burning brightly

In a piece of paper, right at the scene of the accident, write down something like this, “This is to certify that when (your name) undergo medical attention related to (describe) the accident on (date/time), I will pay for his/her hospitalization expenses. Signed (the other driver).
I have not been in a similar situation but I will do this to make sure that the other driver commits himself to shoulder my hospitalization expenses. Linus

If you were hurt, you go to a clinic and get checked out. You shouldn’t be waiting to seek medical attention. You do not need an attorney as suggested, and if you do retain counsel you should stay away from any attorney that refers you to doctors. Attorney/doctor relationships are frowned upon in the insurance world.

Contact the at-fault driver’s insurance company and report the loss. Let the adjuster know you were injured. They will explain the claims process. If you live in a No-Fault state, you should have Personal Injury Protection coverage(PIP). This coverage will pay for your medical expenses and wages. If you do not have this coverage, the other party’s liability coverage should pay for your medicals as long as they are related to the injury.

You should know that your medicals will not be paid on a “pay as you go basis”. The medicals will be paid once you have stopped treating and will be included in any potential settlement. Lawnboy & Luna

You go to a doctor or hospital and pay for it.

You can try to sue the other person, to get them to pay medical bills, but if you haven’t already incurred the bills – you won’t win. You can’t get them “pre-approved”, and in some states, you can’t collect under their policy at all. mbrcatz17

Most doctors offices will have a paper to fill out at the receptionist desk. You just fill out the other driver’s insurance info if you have it and then send it to their company. They will decide to cover it or not after they reciece the paper LauraE
