I’ve worked for years as both a mechanic and in the auto parts industry. I also hold a degree in computer programming and my CompTIA A+ certification. I’m interested more in an IT career – but if I can leverage my auto experience somehow, i’m sure it would help.

Any insight on how to combine the two? I got laid off in December, and I really need a job. I live just northeast of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, GA.

Tamara asked:

I have seen totally amazing deals on some auto auctions a state away and I really want to know where I can find those auto auctions in my state. I really need a car and I think this is the only way that I am going to be able to afford one. My boyfriend is a mechanic, so he can fix most minor problems. Know where I should look?

I’m an 18 year old female and I really want to take an auto mechanics class at community college along with my other classes. Not necessarily because I want to be a mechanic, but I think a girl should know these things. I’m just afraid that I will be discriminated against because I’m a woman, or that I won’t be able to keep up with the men.
What do you think?
& Men, what would you think about women who take auto mechanics classes?
