Where do I find public auto auctions in my state?

I have seen totally amazing deals on some auto auctions a state away and I really want to know where I can find those auto auctions in my state. I really need a car and I think this is the only way that I am going to be able to afford one. My boyfriend is a mechanic, so he can fix most minor problems. Know where I should look?

    It sort of depends on what type of auto auction you’re looking for. A quick look on the internet by typing in your state and then “public auto auctions” should yield the results that you are looking for. There are the more reliable and trustworthy government fleet sales where they want to get rid of the leases they currently carry on their fleet vehicles. These rigs are usually no more than five years old and have been well-maintained. There are also police impound sales that you can go to. These are sort of a crap shoot because you don’t know the condition of these cars–where they have been or what has been done to them. They could have been in an accident and cheaply repaired leaving it structurally unstable and dangerous to drive. However, you can do a quick check of the car’s history at to see if there is one available. The report can identify any accidents or repairs if they have been documented. This can save you a lot of time and money. Just be aware that you can’t test drive the vehicle before you buy it. You can sit in it, start it, play with the radio and air conditioner, but you cannot put it in drive and test it out. Once you put up your little paddle with the number on it and the auctioneer yells, “SOLD!” it’s all yours. So be careful. Ella
